Jarren! How's it going?

Doing exceptional since I got to London. Looking forward to spending more time in UK/EU

For those who might not already know, tell us a bit about yourself, where you’re from and what you do

Yes Yess. Producer/DJ from LA

Your latest release “Fresco” came out earlier this year on Apron. How did this project come about and what were your inspirations?

Biggest source of inspiration has always been life. Fresco was a culmination of new/old ideas from the last few years. Definitely just a pit stop in the direction I’m headed

Your LP "Antera" came out on Apron during a unique time — you had just come to London to finish it up as the country went into lockdown. What was that experience like, and how did it influence the final stages of the project?

Was a wild experience to say the least. The lockdowns definitely allowed time to focus on wrapping the record up. Benedek & Stevie helped bring it home on the mixing side. Extremely grateful to the both of them

We know you produce but have been DJing a fair amount recently, when did you get into this?

I’ve been digging since I can remember, rummaging through my dad’s and uncles' cd collections searching for the perfect beat. I initially got into scratching around 2008 and naturally into mixing a few years later as friends started to throw parties & events

What tunes have you been playing out recently that you’ve been feeling the most, and what can we expect to hear from you at The Glove That Fits on Saturday for your long-awaited London Debut?

Number has been a must play recently. That one’s too fun. Expect to hear anything from Ciara to Kyle Hall

If you could collaborate with anyone, musically or otherwise, who would it be and why?

Janet, DJ Quik, Uncle Quincy (RIP).. because why not?

As mentioned previously you’re playing The Glove That Fits this Saturday but for those who are out of town is there anywhere else can we catch you soon?

Sunday, December 18th @ Nassau in Bologna & Friday, December 20th @ Homage Brewing in LA

Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with us! Are there any final words of wisdom or shoutouts you would like to make?

Shout out the Apron family & Slices of a Dog crew! Stay hydrated
